Our Story
History & Foundation
The Greater Jackson Kappa Foundation was established in 2019 by the Jackson (MS) Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. to formalize and expand the chapter's decades-long commitment to scholarship, service, and youth development in the Greater Jackson area.
How We Began
The Jackson (MS) Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. has a rich tradition of investing in the young men of the Greater Jackson community. For years, the chapter awarded scholarships and supported youth programs through direct chapter efforts. In 2019, chapter leadership recognized the need for a dedicated 501(c)(3) nonprofit entity to expand fundraising capacity, ensure long-term sustainability, and provide donors with full tax-deductible giving.
The Greater Jackson Kappa Foundation was incorporated and granted tax-exempt status, creating a permanent institutional home for the chapter's philanthropic mission. Since its founding, the Foundation has grown its scholarship program, deepened its support of the Guide Right Initiative, and built a governance structure designed to serve scholars for generations to come.
